Anyone can vote in a municipal election who, on the day of the election, is:
18 years of age or older;
a Canadian citizen;
either a resident of the municipality or a property owner or tenant or the spouse of an owner or tenant in the municipality during a specified time just before the election; and
not otherwise prohibited from voting.
Your name must be on the voters’ list in order to cast a ballot. Please visit Elections Ontario's Voter Registration Service to confirm, update, or add your information to the voters' list.
New for 2026, the Township has approved internet voting. From the Township's information page about voting:
All eligible electors will receive a Voter Information letter in the mail.
Keep the Voting Information letter in a safe place until voting opens.
Follow the instructions in your Voter Information letter. There are specific instructions for voting online which will require the PIN number within your personalized letter.
If you require assistance, you may bring your Voter Information letter to any Voter Assistance Centre during the voting period (more details of where these will be to come later in the fall).
Reach out to Craig if you need any assistance with the logistics of voting!
