Craig has always been about service - at school, with Scouts, and in the community. Now is the time for Craig to serve on Town Council as Ward 3 Councillor.
Craig both lives and works in town, and has proven his ability to listen, communicate, and lead.
Scroll down to find out more about Craig.
Many of you will know that Craig has been an educator in Durham Region for almost 25 years including teaching right here at Uxbridge Secondary School since 2017.
Teaching Canadian and World Studies courses like Geography, Civics, Politics, Tourism, Natural Disasters, and more.
Helping with the Music Department - conducting, sorting, and administrative work behind the scenes.
Running the Honour Them Well Group, including hosting the school's Remembrance Assembly, arranging student visits with veterans at the Legion, and supporting remembrance outreach in the community.
Running the Urban Involvement Club for students interested in Town Planning and the current development projects going on in Uxbridge.
This matters because Craig has helped engage students in their local community for years, and now is engaging the entire community.
Craig has been volunteering with Scouts Canada since 2011, helping young people learn about the outdoors, develop leadership skills, and engage in regular community service.
While Commissioner of 1st Uxbridge Scouts, youth and volunteer enrollment increased significantly (double since 2017!). Craig has also led numerous specific activities that have engaged youth from all over southern Ontario in Scouting adventures like the Jamboree on the Trail hosted in Uxbridge each May, a friendly Survival Camp competition each October, a Camporee in Elgin Park to help celebrate the group's 100th anniverary, as well as leading Youth Trips in various parts of Canada and to Iceland.
For his efforts, Craig has been recognized by Scouts Canada several times, and was also awarded the Queen's Platinum Jubilee Award.
This matters because Craig has proven to be able to lead and grow an organization to have maximum impact for the community.
Town Planning Experience
Craig was a Town Planner in a rural GTA municipality before becoming a teacher, and has ensured that his geography students at school are well aware of how the planning process works in Ontario and what current development projects are underway in Uxbridge.
As a member of the Uxbridge Downtown Revitalization Committee, Craig works with local residents and business owners to share details of the plan with the Uxbridge community and advise Town Council on next steps as it relates to the downtown area.
Craig facilitated the Uxbridge Youth Summit in February 2026, bringing in 50 guests from 19 different agencies to educate and seek feedback from high school students about local development projects in Uxbridge as well as giving students a chance to explore related post-secondary pathways and careers.
This matters because Craig has already been actively involved in planning related projects in the community.
While Commissioner of 1st Uxbridge Scouts, Craig sought new partnerships with community groups to ensure our optimum community connection.
Craig gathered together representatives of more than 35 service groups in town to discuss coordination, cooperation, and collaboration amongst them all. There is a publically available listing of those groups and Craig has arranged for them to gather at an information fair in June.
Now the awareness of these groups is increasing, and their collective impact is on the rise as they work together to further improve our community. Craig will continue to host meetings once a season going forward to ensure their continued success.
This matters because when we work together, we can increase our benefit for our community.
